DESCRIPTIONS OF PAST PROJECTS

Teambuilding:  Intact Work Group

We designed and facilitated a two day retreat for an intact workgroup of over 40 people.  Working with a planning team, we designed a series of working sessions focusing on creating a new vision for the unit and establishing clearer roles and responsibilities for the sub-units.  Skills sessions focused on conflict management and making and keeping commitments (accountability).  In addition to the retreat, the consultant worked with the management team on improving their coaching skills and clarifying and strengthening their agreements about their roles as leaders of the group.

Teambuilding and Leadership Development: Intact Management Team

After conducting a needs assessment, we designed and facilitated a series of one day and half-day workshops for a management team.  The teambuilding aspect of this intervention included crating a leadership vision; enhancing cross-functional relationships; and resolving conflict.   Competency training focused on coaching skills; managing performance and goal setting; giving constructive feedback; emotional intelligence and decision making with competing priorities.

Leadership Development Cohort Program

We designed and facilitated a two year leadership development program for high potential technical and senior administrative professionals of a federal agency.  Admission to the program was highly competitive.  The series of one and two day workshops covered topics such as leadership styles; use of power and authority; emotional intelligence; managing high performance teams; managing change; decision-making and giving effective feedback.

Strategic Planning

In one project, we worked with a nonprofit group to redefine their core mission and create a viable strategic and operational plan. Their challenges included distinguishing their services from other providers, building new alliances and remaining focused on their core strengths.  We also conducted teambuilding activities to help strengthen relationships between the Board and senior staff.
